Career Celebration - Coop Awards

Our career celebration scheme celebrates your commitment and loyalty during your career at Co-op from your first year with us until retirement. The scheme is open to Co-op colleagues from all of our businesses (except Insurance). This new scheme launched on 1 April 2020 and celebrates anniversaries achieved from this date onwards. Unfortunately we aren’t able to retrospectively issue gifts for anniversaries achieved before this date but we look forward to celebrating you at your next milestone. Find out more on the different ways your commitment to Co-op will be frequently celebrated below.

The first four years

Colleagues with one, two, three, or four years’ continuous service will receive a career celebration email thanking you and recognising your commitment to Co-op in the early years of your career.

From five years onwards

From your fifth year of continuous service onwards, we celebrate your career milestones with an award consisting of a badge and framed certificate. For every additional five years’ service you will continue to receive a gift and from 15 years onwards you will also receive a gift card. The breakdown of awards is as follows:

Retirement

Colleagues who retire with over 20 years' service are eligible to receive a retirement gift from Co-op. When you retire, you will receive a retirement award consisting of a framed certificate and a £50 gift card. Your gift will be sent to your home address as detailed on MyHR.

You don’t need to worry about applying to receive your gift. You will automatically be enrolled to receive the gift when your retirement is logged in our systems.

Where can I spend my gift card?

When you receive your gift card, you will gain access to your online account and reward points to spend on an item of your choice via the gift portal. Additional points can be purchased if you wish to top up your balance.
